Cortex-M85 MCUs empower cost-sensitive designs

Renesas has added new units to its RA8 collection of MCUs, combining the identical Arm Cortex-M85 core with a streamlined characteristic set to scale back prices. The RA8E1 and RA8E2 MCU teams are nicely suited to high-volume purposes, together with industrial and residential automation, mid-end graphics, and client merchandise. Each teams make use of Arm’s Helium vector extension to spice up ML and AI workloads, in addition to Belief Zone for enhanced safety.

The RA8E1 group’s Cortex-M85 core runs at 360 MHz. These microcontrollers present 1 Mbyte of flash, 544 kbytes of SRAM, and 1 kbyte of standby SRAM. Peripherals embrace Ethernet, octal SPI, I2C, USB FS, CAN FD, 12-bit ADC, and 12-bit DAC. RA8E1 MCUs are available 100-pin and 144-pin LQFPs.

MCUs within the RA8E2 group increase clock pace to 480 MHz and improve SRAM to 672 kbytes. Additionally they add a 16-bit exterior reminiscence interface. RA8E2 MCUs are provided in BGA-224 packages.

The RA8E1 and RA8E2 MCUs can be found now. Samples may be ordered on the Renesas web site or by way of its distributor community.
