Chinese language and Iranian hackers use ChatGPT and LLM instruments to create malware and phishing assaults — OpenAI report has recorded over 20 cyberattacks created with ChatGPT



If there’s one signal that AI is extra bother than it’s value, OpenAI confirms that over twenty cyberattacks have occurred, all created through ChatGPT. The report confirms that generative AI was used to conduct spear-phishing assaults, debug and develop malware, and conduct different malicious exercise.

The report confirms two cyberattacks utilizing the generative AI ChatGPT. Cisco Talos reported the primary in November 2024, which was utilized by Chinese language menace actors who focused Asian governments. This assault used a spear phishing technique referred to as ‘SweetSpecter,’ which features a ZIP file with a malicious file that, if downloaded and opened, would create an an infection chain on the person’s system. OpenAI found that SweetSpecter was created utilizing a number of accounts that used ChatGPT to develop scripts and uncover vulnerabilities utilizing an LLM instrument.
